Renting a dumpster
What size dumpster do I need?
Go by the job. A 10-yard handles garage, attic and basement cleanouts or a small remodel. A 15-yard covers bigger cleanouts, kitchen remodels and deck removals. A 20-yard is for whole-house cleanouts, large renovations and roof tear-offs. Bigger than 20 yards? All size loads can be done, at special pricing. Not sure? Call 860-759-8131, tell us what you’re tossing, and we’ll point you to the right size.
Can you handle loads over 20 yards?
Yes — all size loads can be done. Our standard dumpsters are 10, 15 and 20 yards; for anything bigger, call or request a quote and we’ll put together special pricing for your job.
Is delivery free?
Yes, if you’re within about 45 minutes of our home base in Plainville — that covers most of central Connecticut. Farther than that, a delivery fee applies, and we’ll tell you what it is before you book. Check your town or ZIP on our service area page.
What can’t go in the dumpster?
No concrete. Hazardous waste — chemicals, solvents, oil, wet paint, propane tanks and asbestos — can’t go in any dumpster. Mattresses, box springs and tires can go in for an additional charge; let us know when you book so we can include it in your quote.
How much does it cost to rent a dumpster?
It depends on the size you need and where it’s going. Call us or send a quote request and we’ll give you your price before anything is booked — including any extra-charge items and, outside our free zone, the delivery fee.
How do I book a dumpster?
Call 860-759-8131 or fill out our quote form. Tell us the size you want (or the job, and we’ll help you pick), the delivery address and the day you need it.
Where will you put the dumpster?
Most go right on the driveway. Tell us where you want it when you book, and on delivery day make sure the spot is clear of cars and that there’s nothing low overhead, like wires or branches.
Do I need a permit?
Usually not, if the dumpster sits on your own driveway or property. If it has to go on a town street or sidewalk, check with your town first — many require a permit for anything placed in the road.
How full can I fill it?
Up to the top of the walls, but not over. A load piled above the sides can’t be hauled safely, so keep everything level with the top.
Do you pick it up when I’m done?
Yes — we drop it off, you fill it, and we pick it up and haul it away. Give us a call when you’re finished.
What towns do you serve?
We’re based in Plainville and deliver across central Connecticut — Bristol, Southington, New Britain, Farmington, the Hartford area, Waterbury, Meriden, Middletown and beyond. Delivery is free within about 45 minutes of Plainville.
Sizes
How big is a 10 yard dumpster?
A 10-yard roll-off holds 10 cubic yards of debris — about three pickup-truck loads. A typical one is roughly 12–14 feet long, 7½–8 feet wide and 3–3½ feet high, so it fits in most driveways. Ask us for the exact measurements when you book.
How big is a 15 yard dumpster?
A 15-yard roll-off holds 15 cubic yards — about four to five pickup-truck loads. A typical one is roughly 14–16 feet long, 7½–8 feet wide and 4–4½ feet high. Ask us for the exact measurements when you book.
How big is a 20 yard dumpster?
A 20-yard roll-off holds 20 cubic yards — about six pickup-truck loads. A typical one is roughly 20–22 feet long, 7½–8 feet wide and 4–4½ feet high, so plan on a long driveway or a clear spot about that size. Ask us for the exact measurements when you book.
